Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

Last updated 27 August 2026

How the Pixel Debugger browser extension handles data. This policy covers the Chrome extension only; the Shopify app is covered by the Privacy Policy.

Summary

The extension collects nothing. It has no backend, no account, no analytics and no telemetry. Nothing it observes is transmitted off the device or written to disk.

What the extension does

Pixel Debugger is a developer tool. It shows the developer what their own web page sent to the ChatGPT Ads measurement endpoints, decodes each request for display, and flags payloads that will not be accepted or attributed correctly.

What it reads

Where that data goes

Nowhere. Captured events are held in the extension's memory for the current browsing session and are shown only in the side panel. They are discarded when the tab is closed, when the panel is cleared, or when the browser is restarted. The extension makes no network requests of its own.

What is not collected

Why the extension requests access to all sites

A ChatGPT Ads pixel can be installed on any domain, so the site a developer needs to debug cannot be known in advance. The permission is used solely to watch for requests to the two measurement endpoints listed above. Traffic to any other host is filtered out before anything is recorded or displayed.
